PZL Mielec has assembled the 100th S-70i Black Hawk multi-purpose helicopter in Poland.
The helicopter will be the second of four vehicles Poland’s military will receive under a 2021 contract.
The configuration of both helicopters is similar to those already used in the Polish Army.
With the delivery of two more Black Hawks, their fleet in the Polish Army will increase to six.
PZL Mielec is one of the largest aerospace manufacturers in Poland, and the largest manufacturing plant of Lockheed Martin Corporation outside the United States.
Since 2010, the company has delivered helicopters to 18 customers from 11 countries.
PZL Mielec also produced over 650 cabins and 520 cones and pylons for the Black Hawk.
In 2022, the company’s portfolio was replenished with the production of the main components for the F-16 Block 70/72 program.
PZL Mielec also assembles S-70i helicopters for the Philippine Air Force.
A contract for the supply of 16 Black Hawk multi-role helicopters developed by Sikorsky was signed in April 2019.
S-70i can be armed with machine guns, but will mainly be used to transport troops and cargo, provide humanitarian assistance, and support disaster relief operations.
Recall that the Czech initiative “Gift for Putin” will raise funds for the Black Hawk helicopter for Ukraine.
