The footage of a test of drones that attacked a Russian airfield in Kursk has been made public.
The corresponding video was published by Yurii Butusov on his YouTube channel.
As previously reported, on the night of August 27, the SSU Military Counterintelligence attacked a military airfield in Kursk.
The kamikaze drones reportedly hit four Su-30 fighters and one MiG-29.
Also, among the hit targets were the radars of the S-300 and two Pantsir-S1 SAMs. This operation was called “Cardboard Lip”.
It is noted that cardboard kamikaze drones were used, which made an air blast over the targets.
Judging by the video, the area of striking elements dispersion is large, they were able to penetrate fairly thick wooden boards.
After the strike was reported, satellite images appeared in which there were no noticeable traces of damage to aircraft gliders.
If the striking elements can penetrate thick wooden boards, then most likely, they can penetrate the airframe of the aircraft.
Accordingly, such damage will not be noticeable even in satellite images with good resolution.
Such damage can take the aircraft out of service for a long time, and full repair of the fuselage is expensive.
In addition, the possibility of hitting important units of the aircraft should not be excluded, which will increase the cost of its repair.
