Satellite images of ammunition detonation in the Krasnohvardiiske district of the occupied Crimea were released.
They were published on social media.
Judging by the images, an ammunition depot located on the territory of the inactive Oktyabrskoye air base was hit.
The pictures also captured a fire on the territory of an oil depot near the railway in the town of Oktyabrskoye.
It should be noted that the Russians placed an ammunition depot close to the village of Novoivanivka.
The smoke indicates that the depots were most likely placed near the disguised hangars on the territory of the airfield.
According to local residents, three incoming strikes were recorded on the territory of the depot, followed by ammunition detonation.
According to them, the shock wave from the first detonation and subsequent explosions were heard even in Feodosiya.
It is not known what the eyewitnesses meant by the “incoming strikes”. Some sources claim that the strike was conducted with the Storm Shadow (SCALP) missiles.
These missiles have a tandem warhead designed to engage protected targets.
Sergei Aksenov, head of the occupation authorities of Crimea, admitted that the detonation was caused by a drone attack.
In this case, drones could have attacked the ammunition located most likely outside, and their detonation could have affected the ammunition in hangars.
The so-called Crimean authorities decided to evacuate the population within a 5-kilometer radius from the scene. People were taken to temporary accommodation.
Militarnyi reported that on July 19, a Russian ammunition depot detonated at the Starokrimsky training ground in Crimea.
