The Ministry of Defense of Russia disarmed units of the so-called Wagner PMC.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that over 2,000 units of equipment and weapons had been transferred.
“According to the plan, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are completing the acceptance of weapons and military equipment from the Wagner PMC units,” the statement said.
In particular, heavy weapons, including T-90, T-80, and T-72B3 tanks, were transferred.
The Wagner PMC was armed with the Grad and Uragan MRLs and 2S1 Gvozdika 122mm, 2S3 Akatsiya 152mm, 2S5 Giatsint 152-mm, 2S4 Tulipan 240mm, and 2S9 Nona-S 120mm ACS.
The Russian illegal armed formation was also armed with an air defense system.
In particular, the mercenaries had Pantsir-S1 SAM and Strela-10 SAM.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noted that dozens of units of the transferred equipment were never used in combat conditions.
More than two and a half thousand tons of various ammunition and a total of 20,000 small arms were also received.
“Wheeled tractors on trawls are transporting heavy tracked vehicles, high-powered self-propelled howitzers, and tanks are transported to field bases to prevent damage to asphalt roads. The wheeled equipment comes at its own pace,” the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation added.
All equipment and weapons are delivered to the Russian rear areas. It then has to go through repair and restoration work and maintenance.
As previously reported, Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, stated that the Wagner PMC will no longer participate in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.
