The National Guard of Russia is being armed with the first Chinese-made Tiger armored vehicles.
Armored vehicles entered service with the Chechen unit Akhmat, which is part of National Guard of the Russian Federation.
Chinese-made military equipment entered service with Russian units for the first time.
It is reported that the armored vehicles were purchased by the authorities of the Chechen Republic. The released footage shows 8 Chinese armored vehicles with weapon mounts.
“We have purchased (since the beginning of the war – ed.) more than a thousand items of military equipment for our soldiers, including 128 items of armored vehicles,” Chechen government officials said.
The Tiger armored vehicle is manufactured by the Chinese defense enterprise Shaanxi Baoji Special Vehicles Manufacturing.
Tiger armored vehicle was demonstrated for the first time at the Eurosatory-2012 international exhibition.
It is created on the basis of an off-road truck, thanks to which it has high mobility in off-road conditions. The vehicle provides protection against 7.62mm bullets.
The armored vehicle can accommodate up to 10 people, including the driver. The Tiger equipped with a 200 hp Cummins ISDE200-30 diesel engine.
The Chinese Tiger is widely exported, with many sold or given as military aid by the Chinese government around the world. As for prices, it is known that in 2015, 31 such vehicles were ordered by Bolivia, with a total contract value of $7.7 million.
The Tiger 4×4 is suitable for a wide range of tasks as an ambulance, command post and as well as law enforcement vehicle.
As previously reported, in April of this year, Xi Jinping gave Ukraine a “positive answer” on the issue of the inadmissibility of supplying weapons to the Russian Federation.
