In the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia, a car with Russian propagandist Zakhar Prilepin was blown up, the Russian media report.
According to propagandist media sources, an Audi in which a propagandist was traveling with a driver was blown up.
It is reported that as a result of the explosion, Prilepin was seriously injured – his legs were damaged and he suffered a concussion, and the driver died.
At the same time, the press service of the Russian propagandist initially stated that he was allegedly alright.
According to the media, Prilepin was allegedly returning to Moscow from the temporarily occupied territory of Donbas. On May 6, the car with him crossed the Russian border.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation confirmed the fact of a car explosion in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was reported that according to the preliminary data there that one person died, and Prilepin was injured, there were no other victims.
The circumstances and reasons for what happened are currently being investigated.
Russian media report that the explosives were allegedly planted under the hood of the car. The explosion was so powerful that the car overturned. At the site of the explosion, a crater with a diameter of about 1.5 meters and a depth of 0.7 meters was formed, as evidenced by images from the scene.
Zakhar Prilepin is a Russian propagandist, writer and politician. He is a member of the political party of the “Just Russia” party, and until 2018 he belonged to the National Bolshevik Party of the Russian Federation. Since 2014, he has been visiting the territory of Donbas controlled by Russian militants, where he supported aggression against Ukraine.
The propagandist is also heavily pro-war and supports a full-scale Russian invasion that began in February 2022.
