The USA has a confirmed and reliable plan for financing the assistance that Ukraine needs for almost the entire year of 2023.
This applies to security, economic, humanitarian, and energy assistance, and differences between political forces within the country will not affect this.
Jake Sullivan, the United States National Security Advisor to President, stated this, VOA reported.
Sullivan, talking to the press on Monday, pointed out that the Americans are mostly supportive of Ukraine, and politicians, both Republicans and Democrats, rely on this support.
Therefore, according to him, discussions about alleged disagreements on this issue are very inappropriate.
In particular, Sullivan drew attention to the publication of Condoleezza Rice, a well-known representative of the Republican Party, and Robert M. Gates, ex-Secretary of Defense of the United States, who headed the Pentagon during the presidency of the Republican Bush, in The Washington Post.
Both politicians called for an immediate boost in assistance for Ukraine.
The United States National Security Advisor to President emphasized that the United States Congress passed and President Joe Biden signed into law the country’s budget for 2023 with almost $45 billion in aid to Ukraine and allies, although the White House originally requested $37 billion.
“We’ve requested $37 billion because we thought — in the omnibus last year — because we thought that’s what would be necessary to get us through the fiscal year. Congress actually plussed that up to $45 billion. That is money that has been appropriated.
That is money that we are beginning to obligate. And I do not see that money getting taken away from us. And, therefore, our ability to have the resources to support Ukraine with both the security assistance it needs, as well as the economic, humanitarian, and energy assistance it needs, is confirmed. It is rock solid through nearly all or the entire 2023,” Sullivan said.
As previously reported, the new US military aid package for Ukraine includes the transfer of 50 M2A2 ODS (Operation Desert Storm) Bradley infantry fighting vehicles.
Also, the Ukrainian military will receive RIM-7 Sea Sparrow anti-aircraft missiles, which, according to the media, the Ukrainian defense industry was able to integrate with the Buk SAM launchers.
