A group of Ukrainian medics have arrived in Poland to participate in air evacuation training for the wounded from the combat zone.
Jacek Siewiera, the head of the National Security Bureau of the Republic of Poland, said this.
Medics will be trained in air evacuation based on the standards of the European Union forces.
The training will take place within the initiative of the first ladies of the Republic of Poland and Ukraine.
“Under the initiative of the first ladies of Poland and Ukraine, a group of Ukrainian doctors arrived in Poland and tomorrow (Monday – Ed.) will begin air evacuation training of wounded military personnel and civilians from the war zone,” Jacek Siewiera wrote on Twitter.
The first group of Ukrainian doctors will begin training on Monday at the Polish medical air rescue base in Warsaw.
“Poland supports Ukraine in the creation and development of helicopter medical rescue service structures, and even more groups are already on their way (for training),” Siewiera added.
In addition, according to previous agreements, training of Ukrainian doctors on the treatment of victims with severe burns will begin on the territory of Poland in January 2023.
As previously reported, the governments of the Netherlands, Estonia and Norway agreed to transfer to Ukraine an additional Role II-type mobile hospital. The mobile hospital itself will be provided by the Estonian side.
In their turn, Norway and the Netherlands will contribute funds to ensure that the field hospital is at the disposal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The three countries’ cooperation will also include the purchase of container ships, trailers, sanitary, warehouse and living modules.
In addition, Norway has donated five military ambulance buses to Ukraine. They are equipped with stretchers, as well as medical equipment, including that for breathing support. The buses also have the equipment to monitor heart work and blood pressure.
They function as a mobile intensive care unit with five beds. The Government of Norway allocated € 2.9 million to purchase 5 specially equipped buses.
