In occupied Crimea, a drone attack on the Balaklava TPP was reported.
Local Russian occupation leadership of the region announced this.
The Russians claim that the attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle took place on the night of October 27.
Mikhail Razvozhaev, so-called “governor” of the Russian-occupied Sevastopol, claimed that tonight, a UAV attack was carried out against the Balaklava TPP.
According to him, only one of the power converters, which was under maintenance and did not operate, caught fire.
He claims that the “damages to power converter are minimal,” and there are no victims of this drone attack.
Balaklava TPP (Sevastopol Combined Cycle Power Plant) is a power plant in occupied Sevastopol, built by Russia on the territory of the captured Ukrainian Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The official commissioning ceremony took place on March 18, 2019.
The purpose of its construction was to reduce the burden on the electrical grid, which was supposed to improve reliability and reduce the costs of reconstructing the so-called Russian energy bridge to occupied Crimea.
On October 19, a drone fell down in occupied Crimea. The Russian occupation administration claimed air defense had worked in the region.
Mikhail Razvozhaev, so-called governor of Sevastopol, claimed that a drone was shot down while it was moving towards the Belbek airfield.
Subsequently, a video was released online capturing the fragments of an unknown UAV. According to eyewitnesses, the drone fell down in the village of Ivanivka, Simferopol district.
Then eyewitnesses claimed that the fall of the UAV preceded the explosion, and windows in the house nearby were blown out.
