The United Nations will help Ukraine with the demining of territories.

This is stated in the notification of the Ukrainian Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories.

At a working meeting, the teams of the Ministry of Reintegration agreed with representatives of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) on assistance in demining.

20 teams of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the State Special Service of Transport will receive technical equipment and personal protective equipment.

Metal detectors, armored helmets, bulletproof vests, minesweepers, wide-frame metal detectors will be handed over from the UN.

Ukraine will also receive armored excavators and other equipment.

The transferred equipment should help Ukrainian pyrotechnicians clear the territory of explosive objects.

The Ministry of Reintegration noted that in Ukraine, UNOPS actively supports reforms in the areas of rule of law, social protection, economic growth, environmental protection, demining, health care, etc.

AS previously reported, in 2021, with the assistance of UNOPS, the National Police of Ukraine received an explosive device suit and related equipment for demining.

Automotive equipment with a total value of €3.4 million was also transferred.
