The Elysee Palace announced the increasing of military aid to Ukraine in response to a massive shelling by Russia.
This is stated in a corresponding message published on the website of the Elysee Palace. It is noted that French President Emmanuel Macron had a conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky after the attacks on the territory of Ukraine.
President Macron reaffirmed his support for Ukraine and France’s commitment to increase military assistance:
“The President of the Republic expressed extraordinary concern that the strikes resulted in civilian casualties. He reaffirmed his full support, as well as France’s commitment to increase its support for Ukraine in response to the needs expressed by Kyiv, in particular regarding military equipment,” the report said.
The day before, Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of a special fund for 100 million euros for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
He also confirmed negotiations with Denmark on the transfer of six additional Caesar self-propelled guns to Ukraine.
Currently, the Ukrainian military uses 18 of these artillery systems.
In addition, French media reported that Ukraine will receive Bastion armored personnel carriers in the near future.
Recall, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that in the coming days the first of the four IRIS-T air defense systems will be delivered to Ukraine.
