Russian invaders plan to hold a show trial over the captured defenders of Azovstal in the temporarily occupied Mariupol on Ukraine’s Independence Day.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported about this.

According to the intelligence officers, for this purpose, the premises of the Mariupol Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra, which survived in previous attacks, are being urgently converted.

The Russian invaders are mounting iron cages on the stage of the philharmonic hall, in which they will keep the Ukrainian defenders. Several other temporary structures are also being erected next to the philharmonic premises.

Intelligence sources report that to add the appearance of “legitimacy” to the event, the invaders are preparing trained “witnesses” and bringing in representatives of the Russian mass media.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine noted that during the trial, the Russians may launch a missile attack on the premises with captured Azovstal defenders.

If such a plot is implemented, the enemy will try to shift the blame for the crime committed onto Ukraine.

“According to one of the possible rashist scenarios, they may deliver a pinpoint missile attack on the premises. If such a plot is implemented, the Russians will try to shift the blame for the crime committed onto Ukraine – in their traditional way,” the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stressed.

As previously reported, the evacuation from the Azovstal plant began on May 16. The seriously wounded Ukrainian militarymen were taken to the hospital on the territory of the so-called ‘L/DNR’. Other military personnel stayed under the control of the Russian military.

On May 17, Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk announced that 52 seriously wounded soldiers would be exchanged for Russian prisoners of war.

On July 29, Russian troops carried out a deliberate targeted attack on a penitentiary facility in the occupied Olenivka, Donetsk region, Ukrainian prisoners of war were held there, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The Security Service of Ukraine, the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights issued a joint statement on the mass murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the occupied part of the Donetsk region.
