This week, a conference of Northern European allies in support of Ukraine will take place in the capital of Denmark.

The new conference in Copenhagen should become a continuation and expansion of the Ramstein format on military assistance at the level of the defense ministers.

Arno Kolatz, Spokesman of the German Defense Ministry stated that it was important that the aid would be stable and continuous.

“It is important for us that the help can be stable and continuous. And this somewhat distinguishes this format from the “Ramstein” format, which deals with short-term arms supplies to Ukraine. The format of this conference fits very well into our concept,” the spokesperson said.

In Copenhagen, among other things, issues of long-term financing, training of the Ukrainian military, and other challenges will be discussed.

Germany plans to make a contribution that “will be a bit broader than the Rammstein format.”

The conference in Copenhagen is a way to extend and expand Rammstein, Kolatz added.

Germany, he noted, is one of the few countries, namely one of the three countries, that are supplying Ukraine with “missile launchers”.

The officer also mentioned the supply of Cobra counter-battery radar stations to Ukraine to combat Russian artillery, drones, etc.

The spokesman added that the Federal Republic of Germany also provides logistics to use of the weapons provided by it, as well as to conduct repairs and personnel training.

On August 11, 2022, at the invitation of the Danish side, the Conference of Northern European Allies to Support Ukraine at the level of defense ministers will be held in Copenhagen.

Participants: Oleksii Reznikov, Minister of Defense of Ukraine, will participate in it. The participation of the Defense Ministers and their representatives from the following countries has been announced: Great Britain, the Republic of Estonia, Iceland, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Norway, the Republic of Poland, Slovak Republic, the USA, Finnish Republic, Czech Republic, Kingdom of Sweden, and in VTC format – Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
