Turkish company Baykar will donate three Bayraktar TB2 drones to Ukraine free of charge as part of the People’s Bayraktar fundraising initiative.

Vasyl Bodnar, Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, announced this.

Currently, the company is completing preparations for the transfer of these unmanned combat aerial vehicles.

The Ukrainian Ambassador visited the aircraft manufacturing plant of the Turkish defense company Baykar and personally thanked the management and owners of the enterprise for this incredible support.

Bayraktar TB2 drones will be transferred to Ukraine free of charge in support of the determination of the Ukrainian people as part of the People’s Bayraktar fundraising initiative for the purchase of drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Baykar announced this on June 27.

As previously reported, volunteer Serhiy Prytula announced a fundraising campaign for three Bayrak drones. The initial plan was to raise UAH 500 million within a week.

However, the Ukrainians managed to raise UAH 600 million in three days.

Serhiy Prytula stated that this amount would be enough to buy four Bayraktar TB-2 drones. At the same time, he refused to disclose the terms of the contract.

“Three days, 600 000 000 UAH, four Bayraktars!!!!!!!! I thank everyone who joined the “People’s Bayraktar” project!!! This was really the project that united everyone regardless of age, gender, or religion!” Serhiy Prytula wrote in his telegram channel.

Bayraktar TB2 is a Turkish-made strike unmanned aerial vehicle with a long duration of flight.

It is equipped with an internal piston engine. Its hull is made of composite materials and equipped with an automatic takeoff and landing system.
