The Russian military opened artillery fire on the Sumy region.
Dmytro Zhyvytskyy, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, announced this in a Telegram channel.
This morning, the Russian invaders opened an artillery fire from their side of the border. No one is as of now reported injured as a result of the shelling.
“Almost at 8 am, the Russian military opened an artillery fire from their territory. Esman community of the Shostkinsky district was attacked. There are no casualties reported,” wrote the Head of the RMA.
Dmytro Zhyvytskyy also noted that last night, the situation at the border was relatively quiet, except for the single and automatic shots from small arms on the territory of Russia near the Ukrainian border.
This occurred at the border in the Shalyhin community (Shostka district) of the Sumy region.
This week, the Russians repeatedly opened fire at the border settlements of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
Yesterday at 4 am, the border guards of the Chernihiv detachment recorded shelling from the Russian Federation near the Senkivka checkpoint.
According to the State Border Guard Service, the Russians fired about 8 shots from a 120mm mortar.
On May 17, the enemy launched a missile strike against the city of Okhtyrka.
Five Russian missiles struck civilian targets and caused excessive damage. Warehouses got on fire, and residential houses were damaged. The missiles hit the central part of the city.
Five people were injured. The consequences of the enemy’s attack were still being neutralized.
