Part of the wounded manpower of the invaders forces of Russia was captured after the battle.
The Ukrainian servicemen provided medical care to the wounded occupiers and bandaged their wounds.
Yuriy Mysiahin, Ukrainian volunteer and politician, published photos with a group of prisoners of war.
During the interrogation, one of the prisoners said that they had no desire to fight, but were afraid of criminal prosecution.
“The top commanders came and explained that we would be imprisoned and sent us back to the front line,” the prisoner of war said.
Also, soldiers of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces captured a Russian tank-man.
Denis Oleksiyovych Votinov, a 20-year-old Russian prisoner of war, said that he was doing contract service in the 59th Guards Tank Regiment of Russia.
“Votinov is lucky, he will live, unlike most of his comrades, and might even see his native Perm region one day,” the Ukrainian servicemen said.
The 59th Lublin Guards Tank Regiment is twice Red Banner awarded, holding Orders of Suvorov and Kutuzov Regiment and is a tactical formation of the Ground Forces of the Russian Federation.
The regiment is part of the 144th Guards Motor Rifle Division with a permanent base in Yelnya. It originates from the 99th Panzer Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, but only on December 1st, 2018, the 59th Guards Panzer Regiment was restored in Russia.
It was reported that during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in the spring of 2022, the regiment commander, Colonel Alexander Bespalov, was killed.
