The Armed Forces of Ukraine have repulsed an attack of the Russian personnel on the settlement of Zavody in the Kharkiv region.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, on April 25th, the invaders were trying to improve their tactical situation in this direction.

The settlement of Zavody, a village in the Izyum district of the Kharkiv region, is a location at the forefront of hostilities and is under the control of Ukrainian forces.

“In the area of the city of Izyum, the enemy was trying to improve the tactical situation in the directions Andriyivka–Zavody and Dibrovne–Kurulka,” said the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Also, on April 22, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the enemy was trying to conduct the offensive operations in Zavody and Dibrovne, yet had no success.

Recently, the Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsaplienko published a video from the village of Zavody.

The video shows a destroyed BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle, which had a tactical marking with the Latin letter “V.”

“Captain Kapusta calls it the Zavoddia (place over the waters – ed.). And that’s the appropriate name since it is located behind the waters of the Siverskyi Donets,” says the journalist.

The village of Zavody is located in the northwestern part of the Izyum district on the right bank of the river Siverskyi Donets. Upstream from it at a distance of 10 km away the village of Petrovske (Balakliysky district) is located; downstream, at a distance of 4.5 km away is the village of Semenivka. On the opposite bank from it is Spivakivka, and in the south, it borders the village of Barabashivka.

Russian troops are now trying to secure a ground passage between Donetsk, Luhansk, and occupied Crimea, and have tried to storm two directions in Izyum.

Also, in the occupied city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region, the Russian invaders had appointed “mayor” Vladislav Sokolov, a former police officer, who ran for the office in 2020 and lost to Valery Marchenko, the current city Head.
