The Ukrainian forces captured the Russian Buk-M2 SAM

Special Operations Forces operators had seized several units of the Russian air defense equipment.

The Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the successful actions of special forces in the fight against the Russian aggressor and the seizure of trophy equipment.

Ukrainian defenders, in particular, seized equipment from the Buk-M2 and Buk-M1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile systems.

“Several units of enemy air defense equipment were seized by a group of SOF of Ukraine during special operations. In particular, we are talking about the elements of the “Buk-M1” and SAM “Buk-M2” systems”, – reads the SOF statement.

Trophies were: self-propelled launcher “Buk-М2” and launcher with a missile.

In addition, the 9S18 «Kupol» (NATO: «Tube Arm» – ed.) detection and target designation radar station were seized.

The military stated that the captured enemy equipment is operational.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Ukrainian special forces seized the launching and charging installation from the Russian “Buk” anti-aircraft missile system.

The Buk-M2 medium-range multi-role anti-aircraft missile system is designed to destroy aircraft, cruise missiles, helicopters, and other air targets.

This anti-aircraft missile system can be used for the air defense of troops, military facilities, important administrative, industrial, and other locations (centers) to protect them from massive aerial attacks.
