In August, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a missile strike in southern, Russian-occupied Crimea.
The attack was reported by the Telegram channel Dosye Shpyona, which also published video of the strike.
It took place near the village of Sonyachna Dolyna in the Feodosia district. The target was artillery depots of Russia’s Dnepr group.
According to a witness, three unguided rockets were fired. The extent of the damage is unclear.
The village and surrounding area are likely covered by the 18th Guards Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment (military unit 85388), part of the Russian Armed Forces’ 31st Air Defense Division.
The regiment was formed after 2014 on the basis of the 50th regiment. It is stationed in Feodosia and equipped with S-400 and Pantsir-S1 systems.
Recently, on the night of September 10, drones struck the headquarters and a communications facility at military unit 81415, after which a reconnaissance drone recorded the results.
Footage showed two successful hits and the failed operation of a Pantsir-S1 air defense system protecting the site.
It was the second strike on the Crimean Space Communications Center. Earlier in the month, drones of the Ghost special unit hit the RT-70 radio telescope and several Utes-T radars.
On September 5, it was reported that Ukrainian drone operators had destroyed Russian Podlet and Nebo-M air defense radars in occupied Crimea.
The Podlet and Nebo-M radars are not part of individual air defense systems but provide surveillance as elements of a layered defense network. They transmit information to sector command posts, which then relay it to anti-aircraft units.
