The lukashenko regime is detaining belarusian railway workers en masse.

This was reported by the belarusian media “Zerkalo”.

The reason for the detentions was their subscription to the “Live. Сообщество железнодорожников Беларуси” (Live. Community of railway workers of belarus – ed.) Telegram channel. This professional community chat was recognized “extremist” by the regime.

The channel is publishing information about the russian military using belarusian railway system for the war against Ukraine. It also publishes information about guerrilla sabotage to complicate the transportation of russian tanks.

The belarusian KGB has published 38 videos of detained belarusian railroad workers. In those videos, they admit their “guilt” for being a member of the community.

Meanwhile, the sabotage on belarusian railways continues. Deutsche Welle has published an infographic with a map of the guerrillas’ actions over a month of the war.

There are reports about sabotage happening on the four railways, two stations and one stop point, which was organized until March 28.

Nasha Niva writes that guerrillas are setting fire to relay cabinets; closing the rails with wire to disable the alarms; and putting the logs on the rails.

On March 30, 2022, unknown guerrillas have opened two relay cabinets and set fire to one of them (Osipovichi-Gomel direction). In the forest area, there was a patrol of internal troops, which had opened fire (it is unclear whether they intended the lethal fire). Nonetheless, the guerrillas managed to safely retreat.

It is worth noting that such actions can only temporarily slow down the movement of the railway transport.

Meanwhile, the Battalion of Kastus Kalinowski (a detachment of Belarusian people within the Armed Forces of Ukraine) called on his compatriots to carry out deliberate sabotage against the logistics of invaders in belarus, in particular, on the railway routes. However, the operations should be thought through and have the planned escape ways.
