Invaders’ ammunition depot explodes in occupied Shakhtarsk, Donetsk Region

Explosions and fires continue at an ammunition depot in the Russian-occupied city of Shakhtarsk in the Donetsk Region.

Social media users report explosions and publish videos of the fire.

On the night of July 8, explosions in the city caused ammunition detonation in the depot of the Russian Federation invasion forces.

It is reported that the detonation began after 2am.

The social media videos show that the ammunition depot fire appears to be extremely large-scale.

The local occupation administration started evacuating the population to the neighboring settlements and asking residents to temporarily relocate to remote areas of the city.

According to local residents on social media, the explosions in occupied Shakhtarsk have been going on for several hours.

Eyewitnesses’ comments suggest that the detonation of ammunition at the military depot may continue for several more days.

Thick fire smoke rises for several hundred meters. Sirens are going off in the city.

Shakhtarsk is a city of regional subordination and a district center in the Donetsk Region. It is a part of the Shakhtarsk agglomeration. The city was occupied by the Russians in 2014.

Previously, ammunition also exploded at a military warehouse of the invaders in occupied Donetsk.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the largest Russian military depots on the territory of Donetsk was blown up.
